Blogger Reports that Snowden German Television Interview Being Blocked by United States Government

Blogger/Attorney Jonathan Turley reports:
Last Sunday, former NSA contractor and whistleblower Edward Snowden was interviewed for the German television network ARD.  The interview was big news in Germany and much of the world in both print and broadcast media. However, the interview appears to have been blocked intentionally by US government authorities. In fact, the media in the US appears to have gone to ‘radio silence’ about it. It has been posted on YouTube several times, but is taken down almost immediately.  The video site Vimeo has it embedded, but as I write this, Vimeo is under a DDoS attack.  LiveLeak also has it, and that video is embedded in this report by Jay Syrmopoulos for  Ben Swann’s news page.

Mr. Snowden spoke candidly in a thirty-minute English language interview with the reporter from ARD.

He says his “breaking point” was “seeing Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, directly lie under oath to Congress.” That was when Clapper denied the existence of a domestic spying programs when he testified before Congress in March of last year. Snowden added, “The public had a right to know about these programs. The public had a right to know that which the government is doing in its name, and that which the government is doing against the public.”
Call me naive, but I have trouble believing that the federal government could simply snap its finger and stop the vast and independent American media from airing the interview.  Fortunately, Turley's publishes the video in his article.

You are naïve if you don't understand the corporate ownership of American media today and how they are under the direct control of the national security state.

I watched the entire interview. Snowden came across as measured, calm and articulate. The person who interviewed Snowden conducted himself in a Professional manner.

If CNN, MSNBC, or Fox would have conducted the interview he would have been shouted down and interrupted by the hosts.

The fact that our Mega-Media here in the US print and telecommunications has ignored this interview speaks for itself.

Snowden makes a revealing comment on the relationship between the Government and the Private Contractors. Snowden worked for Booze-Allen.
Per Snowden, "The problem there is you end up in a situation where government policies are being influenced by private corporations who have interests that are completely divorced from the public good in mind." This sounds similar to Ike's warning on the Military-Industrial Complex.

Snowden has revealed and continues to reveal the incestuous relationship between Corporate America and the Government.

Tonight at the Skyline Casino my husband and I were treated extremely unfair. The shift manager Connie (a man) did not have all the correct facts together and did not want to hear what happened. neues online casino
