ICVA Produces Cheesy "Welcome" Video for Super Bowl Guests

I have long said Indianapolis needs to get over its inferiority complex.  People outside of Indianapolis do not believe that we are just a bunch of hicks not ready to play in the big league.  Well the Indiana Convention and Visitors Association has apparently decided to prove me wrong in this awful welcome video based on the 1985 Bears Super Bowl Shuffle video.  Warning:  After watching it you will regret losing 5 1/2 minutes of your life.

Unfortunately I know public dollars were spent on this travesty.

Thanks to Indy Democrat who first picked up on this video.

How much was spent on this nightmare. I get the concept, but couldn't these guys come up with something original?

Originality isn't Indy's strongpoint, currently.

C'mon, Paul. It isn't all that bad. Kind of amusing, actually. I will admit that I didn't last a full minute, though. That was quite long enough.

Still, are the sunglasses an attempt to look cool, or hide their identities? ;)

Im really surprised at this production.

The ICVAs advertising agency is a good one. I cannot believe that they produced this piece of crap. The old management of that agency would never have let this happen. This is a sad day for our city if this is what we show to the world

Paul, lets find out how much they spent.

The ICVA will spend over $3,000,000 on advertising in 2012

ICVA does little more than waste our money.

I think I'm going to plan a vacation during superbowl week so I'm no where near this place.

The hotels mentioned should pay for this commercial - not the taxpayers.

It just ocurred to me that it is completely unnecessary to spend dollars promoting our hotel rooms.

Even the flea bag motels will be rented that week...so why spend the money?

Check out how many people are renting their houses on Craigs List.

A better video would be to show the kindness and hospitality of Indy's citizens...not self-promotion for the facilities which will be full anyway.

HFFT, actually I thought of that exact same point. Maybe they're talking about return visitors?

Paul...if they want to get return visitors, this bit isn't going to persuade anyone that Indy is cool.

The concept and production is no better than a video high school seniors would make. In fact, I'm pretty sure we could find better videos made by high school kids.

I should thank you for posting, however because friends at the office watched and it gave me another opportunity to show them how the city wastes their money.

On the other hand, here is a video that makes sense to produce:

The video has been banned on the link provided.

I think it is so bad that it is good.

Here is a link to another site with the video.
