An Anectdotal Observation on Election Day Turnout

I spent much of the afternoon in about an 80% Republican precinct in Perry Township.  I left at about 2:30 with about 180 voters having cast a ballot in the precinct I was watching.  That translates into about a 20% turnout and on track for a 30% turnout day which would exceed 2007's countywide turnout of 26%.

I arrived at my 80% Democratic precinct in Pike Township to vote at about 3:30.  They had had about 350 voters with just over 1000 voters in the precinct, or about 35%.  They'll probably be close to 45% before the polls close.

It would look like from this small sample that the Democrats are doing very well at turnout.
