Indianapolis Experiences Coolest July In 42 Years

Weather is not the same thing as climate.  In fact, one of the points I have made repeatedly is that you can't look at weather over a short period of time (and even 140 years of recorded temperatures is a very short period of time in the climate history of this 4.5 billion year old planet) to ascertain long-term climate changes.

Nonetheless, last year I had to endure alarmists insisting that last year's weather was proof positive of global warming.  Of course it wasn't.  But if the alarmists are going to look at weather and insist that a hotter than normal summer as proof, they can't ignore a summer that is much cooler than normal.

Today, I just heard it reported that July 2013 was the coolest July since 1971.  Average temps for last month were 10 degrees below what they were during July 2012.  Proof of global cooling?  Of course not.   Proof alarmists were wrong to use last summer's hot weather as proof of global warming?  Absolutely.

A cooler than normal July also doesn't necessarily infer that you are correct either.

What I imagine is that the earth's climate system is trying to regulate itself amidst growing amounts of outside influence. This causes flucuations not normally seen, on average. While the global climate is bound to change, I think that we humans aren't "helping" ourselves out here. Will we be able to adjust to change? Probably. But, it will likely cost more money. You willing to chip in? I thought not.

Varan, the global climate has been changing for 4.5 billion years. I don't think that's going to change any time soon. The weather has always fluctuated from year to year. This isn't new.

I want to make clear that I agree that weather isn't evidence of climate. My point is that the alarmists use weather as proof of climate when the weather fits their global warming theory then ignore it when it doesn't.

I would agree global climate has changed over 4.5 Billion years. The Movement by Plate tectonics of the continents effects climate. These are slow changes. Large volcanic eruptions can effect weather also.

However, I do believe human activity is in play also. Think of earth 200 years ago. We now have 1 Billion vehicles on the road. We have the effects of the internal combustion engine out side of motor vehicles and huge power plants.

We have rivers and lakes polluted by human activity. We have the dumping of toxic wastes and the run off from mining operations.

We live in a State that has no interest at all in recycling.

I do not pretend to know if humans are changing the climate long term, but to think we have no effect on the earth is naive.

You're smarter than this Paul. You talk about the alarmist, deniers like you are just as dangerous. You need to drop this BS, the sooner the better. I'm losing the little respect I have for you.

FREEDOM BETRAYED by Herbert Hoover is a book that comes highly recommended by Justice4Germans.wordpress.com.

Glow-ball worming... yeah... temperature data collection within feet of AC compressors (they put out heat) does not make any "scientific" case for warming; but rather a case for fraud.

And as Northerntruthseeker website owner, ranted on 6/30:

"I need not state again that man made Global Warming I pure bunk. This planet's climate is not affected by man made pollutants as these criminals behind the scam claim. And it is time for people to wake the hell up, and realize that Carbon Dioxide is NOT this horrific "Greenhouse Gas" as the scam artists continue to claim. Carbon Dioxide is in fact a coolant and a necessity for life on this planet. The more CO2, the more plant life on this planet thrives. And considering the damage we have to forests and to plants already, a little more CO2 is not a bad thing at all.

To read about the holocausting engaged in by Ike, James Bacque in OTHER LOSSES, and Thomas Goodrich in HELLSTORM, describes his acts, criminal beyond description.

It does not require much smarts to know that some summers are warmer than others, and some are colder.

Citing an example of playing red-green-green-red on a roulette wheel and winning each time as a proof that a betting system works is at best misleading and at worst is a path to bankruptcy.

Using a single summer's weather and storms as proof of anything is equally invalid.

Does it make you feel good that the people agreeing with you are crackpots and conspiracy nut jobs?

It's entertaining to note fashionable insecurities of those concerned with who does or doesn't, agree with them; marketing subject to profiling...

Arctic sees unprecedented July cold

“Normally the high Arctic has about 90 days above freezing. This year there was less than half that,” says Steven Goddard website.

“The Arctic ice extent is showing a remarkable recovery from the great oscillations of 2012,” says Guimaraes. “Compare with the previous years listed there, you’ll see that 2004 is the year that is closest to 2013 in terms of average temps during the summer.”

It's a cycle. It's a cycle. It's a cycle.
