Common Cause Offers CLE Seminar on Judicial Selection; Approved for 1.5 Hours of Ethics

Sound Judgment:
A Discussion of Judicial Selection and Ethics for the 21st Century

Please join us for a luncheon seminar for legislators, lobbyists, attorneys and advocates on Friday, December 16 from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the House Chambers at the Indiana State Capitol.

It is imperative that our justice system remain fair and neutral and we must ensure that the courts are accountable only to the law and not to special interests. With trust in government at new lows, it is vital that the public not lose faith in the concept of an independent judiciary.

Our distinguished panel will explore these topics and more. Panelists include The Honorable Theodore Boehm, Indiana Supreme Court; Professor Charles Geyh, Associate Dean for Research and Professor of Law at IU Law Bloomington; and Bert Brandenburg, Executive Director of the Justice at Stake campaign.

Reserve your place today! If you have any questions, please contact Common Cause Indiana at 317-925-5780.

1.5 hours of ethics CLE credit is available to attorneys

This event is sponsored by Common Cause Indiana, and cosponsored by AARP Indiana and the League of Women Voters of Indiana.

The cost for attorneys is $75. A reduced rate is available for government/non-profit attorneys and others simply wishing to attend.  Here is a link to the website to sign up.  This is an important topic considering next year's election will feature scores of judicial candidates.
