IMPD Orders Vehicles Towed At IMPD Rally

My office is right across the street from the City Market off of Delaware Street. Parking is prohibited after 3 pm along that stretch of the street and every afternoon officers come by writing tickets and having cars towed away by "Last Chance" towing. Most people though know the rules and there is generally only one or two vehicles that end up being towed.

Today though there were a lot of new people downtown at the City Market having come to show their support for IMPD and other law enforcement agencies. When I arrived back at the office at 3:15 or so I noticed that many of the people attending the rally were still milling about downtown. I also noticed that Delaware Street was filled with cars and that an IMPD officer was furiously writing tickets. Last Chance had so many cars to tow they were doing two at a time.

No real commentary. I just found it to be very ironic. You come downtown to support IMPD and an IMPD officer writes you a ticket and has your car towed.

I sure hope Jack Cottey wasn't among them.

Revenue enhancement must go on.

All they need in this town for revenue enhancement is to ticket drivers who run red lights or right turn 'on roll'. Both of these have reached epidemic proportions.

If the cars are not moved by 3:00 in that block on Delaware, they should be towed, so that the rush hour traffic can use that land.
The meters and signs are very clear.
