I wonder if 1) the Church had to pay the Colts to use the facility like other groups; 2) Whether the Colts get 1/2 of the collection plate pursuant to the contract.Thousands of Catholic Hoosiers are expected to flood Lucas Oil Stadium today for a ceremonial mass in honor of Archdiocese of Indianapolis’ 175th Anniversary.
The mass begins at 3 p.m. and is open to the public.Indianapolis Archbishop Daniel M. Buechlein and 19 other Catholic dignitaries from across the United States are expected to attend.
The church believes this could be one of the largest assemblies of Catholics in state history.
“Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted; the indifference of those who should have known better; the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most; that has made it possible for evil to triumph.” Haile Selassie

I hope they prayed for a miracle.
I'd presume that the Colts do per the contract. Do we the taxpayers have any avenue to discover what is in fact is paid to the Colts and when?
Jon, as the Colts are operating undera private contract they have with the CIB, the Colts should be subject to Indiana's Open Records law. The law in terms of what records a contractor needs to provide is not real clear but my opinion is that it is the same that a public agency would have to provide.
What about the event honoring our troops back from overseas, held earlier this year in the stadium? It was a free event but who paid for the hosting expenses?
And how many other 'free' events are on schedule?
PP,
One of the great things about having a community building like Lucas Oil Stadium is to be able to provide it to groups like this, the veteran's group you talk about and IHSAA. But if they have to pay the Colts to use it, then the public is being deprived of the use of a public building by a private company.
